If you have any suggestions for any other rules in addition to these please PM (personal message) a member of staff in chat. All of the rules listed below are there for your safety, and we don't think any of them are unreasonable.
This page explains how you can keep yourself safe. By abiding by our rules you can assure you and/or your childs safety.
RULE 2:
RULE 1:
All TalkTalk staff strongly advise that you do not give any details out on any of our chatrooms. This includes: Bank Details, Full Names, Addresses, Pictures Of Yourself, MSN/Yahoo(etc) Addresses. This is why you should always chose a "NickName" as your display name.
Here at TalkTalk, our user's safety is what we care about most. We strongly advise that you do NOT meet anybody you meet on any TalkTalk chatrooms. However, this "rule" is more of a guideline, and if you decide to meet somebody you have met off of one of our chatrooms then there is nothing we can do about it. You can however help us to get rid of all these people that ask to meet you. If anybody says they are 18+ please report this as abuse. We hope you take this rule very seriously as we take NO responability for anything that happens outside of the internet.
RULE 3:
RULE 4:
Don't you just hate it when people keep typing nonsense? e.g. "jsdfhjkgdskjgf" like that... But 100 times! Well don't do it. It's annoying and above all people are trying to engage in a proper conversation.
We try to keep all of our users happy at TalkTalk, which is why we have 0 tolerance on offensive language. Any name calling, abusive language, offensive language, racism, sexism, swearing etc... e.g. "ure gay." Language like this will result in 2 warnings. The first you will politely be asked to stop. If you continue the bad language you will be assertively told to stop or you will be kicked from the chatroom. Finally, if you chose to carry on dispite the warnings from staff, you will be kicked out or possibly banned (depends on how bad it is) from TalkTalk. Be Nice!
RULE 6:
Please do not advertise on any TalkTalk chatrooms e.g. "hey everybody go on this! www.example1.com" However, advertising your own personal blog is acceptable although it is a breach of RULE 2. You may only advertise personal blogs if you are 13+. If you are caught advertising other than this, you will be kicked out.
18+ RULE:
TalkTalk ask that you only use the #ChatterBox chatroom if you are younger than 18. The reasons for this are that too much mature content will be viewed by people younger than 18. Also, we ask that you only use #ChatterBox if you are older than 8 (younger than 18). In addition, there will be a new chatroom coming soon for 18+. If we catch any 18+ in #ChatterBox you will be banned, no warnings.
RULE 7:
Please do not view any films on our cinema page if your age does not match the requirements to view the film... Think. Would they let you in at a real cinema if you weren't the right age? The answer's no, they wouldn't. However, there are some acceptions. If you are not squeamish or anything like that then you may view if you like.
RULE 8:
We ask that you do not abuse any of our forums, help centers etc... The most important one is the Report Abuse centre, if you abuse it, the IP address shows, which means we can get the NickName you're using for our chatrooms and we can then bann it.
